FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM
After reading last months tech-tip on effective gasoline life after it rests in your tank for a few months, newest member Mark Hurwitz faxed me with a few more comments on this subject, as follows:

"Received the newsletter yesterday and I hope the casual drivers take your reminder on gas stability additives seriously. one of the most widely used products is called STA*BIL, available at most parts stores. These recent oxygenated fuels are a real boondoggle.
Their shelf life in a warm climate is only 3 to 4 weeks before the gummies occur. A good grade of premium fuel gets you another 2 weeks. There are a few (other) effective cleaners that sometimes give acceptable results. The most consistent one is Chevron Techron that costs $6.99 per bottle. The lesser priced offerings from Chevron don't cut it as well".

Neither the writer nor the Registry newsletter is endorsing any of these products since I have no personal experience with any of them. With our mild climate in Arizona I drive my own Squire often enough to cycle fuel through my car's system with consistent regularity. I am aware, however, that those of you in colder climates allow your Squires to sit for months at a time without hitting the starter button and that's where the problem lies.

is the internet address of another Intermeccanica owners group called the Intermeccanica Enthusiasts Club that appears to be an offshoot or revamp of the old Intermeccanica Owners Club that has been run sporadically since 1974 by Loring Burnett of Huntington, L.I., New York. They have listed our Squire SS-100 Registry in their website and if any of you wish to contact their club correspondent, he is John Wilkens of West Chester, PA.

Some months ago we were contacted by Tim Marriott, a young man from Aurora, Colorado who is determined to contact as many Intermeccanica owners as he can locate and, write a history of Intermeccanica from its' inception to its' current location in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Finding that these two men were not aware of one another and judging that they were working toward the same end purpose, I got them together and they have agreed on forming a truly active national Intermeccanica owners group. Which leads me to the next subject:

FIRST ANNUAL AUTOMOBILI INTERMECCANICA EXTRAVAGANZA
CONCORSO ITALIANO AT CARMEL, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 27-29, 1999
How's that for a mouth full! I have attached a flyer from Tim Marriott with the schedule for this upcoming get together and it looks interesting enough that four of us from the far Western states are at least thinking about attending. Pebble Beach-Carmel may be one of the most beautiful spots in the USA should any of the rest of you care to attend. You can fly to San Francisco, rent a car and drive down for a fun, if expensive weekend. I've attached a copy of the announcement with this newsletter.

CHASSIS # 42 CHANGES HANDS
Bill Simms has purchased this particular Squire SS-100 from Larry Knight and it has been transported commercially from Ocala, FL to Bullhead City, AZ. We're looking forward to Bill & Bev joining us in the Western activities.

THE 2ND ANNUAL SPRING THING
in Laughlin, Nevada has come and gone with a bang. There were 9, (count "em, NINE) Squire SS-100s parked in host Vern & Sorita Jensen's pasture and I believe that's the most Squires parked in one place at the same time since they sat on the dock as they arrived from Italy.
It's a crying shame that work and other commitments keep the entire Registry from attending these get togethers. Squire SS-100 owners as a group are the most fun & congenial crowd I've come across on a long time. This time most of the wives attended and that kept the tech-talk among the men down to a reasonable level but we did have time to make mechanical comparisons when the cars were all parked together at the Jensen's. This year we had members attending from six States + one Canadian Provence. More next year??
Vern & Sorita opened their beautiful property for our exclusive use and provided enough food, beverage and dessert so that we did not have to eat till the next day. They also furnished each attendee commemorative T'shirts, caps and patches. WOW! Our grateful thanks goes out to them AND they plan to do it again next year.
Los Angeles Member Norm Miller (who attended with his 88 year old Mother) once again was our Sunday breakfast host at the - Pioneer Casino. Thanks again, Norm.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER
Make it as simple as possible but no simpler.
