- In 1979, Frank Reisner developed a Checker
based Neo-Classic called the Lexington. The idea was to buy a Checker car, sell the
body to the taxi companys and keep the 112 inch chassis to make the car. It was
similar to what the Excalibur company was doing at the time. Frank developed three
different bodies: A convertible, targa and coupe with different doors and roofs.
-
- Frank made a buck and was making molds and
tooling but the project never took off because the Checker company folded. If they had
started a year earlier it would have been a great idea.
